2025 DEAN’S REPORT

While the backgrounds and roles of each leader varied, a thread throughout each conversation was clear: The hallmark of good leadership is caring deeply about who you are leading and what you are leading toward. This course took the Executive MBA program beyond the classroom and encouraged each of us to reflect on our motivations for learning and leadership.”

STRENGTHENING MBA OPTIONS We continue to evolve our graduate portfolio to meet the demands of today’s business landscape. We are in the process of launching a new Professional Online MBA format, a flexible option that delivers the same rigor and reputation of a Broad MBA in a fully online model. With 7-week modules, optional live sessions, and no travel required, students can tailor the pace of their degree to fit their professional and personal commitments. The program’s curriculum is designed to balance theory and practice, preparing graduates to make an impact immediately while building long-term leadership capacity. Students gain expertise across strategic management and analytics, leadership

development, accounting and finance, supply chain management, marketing strategy, and global business and innovation. These experiences ensure that Broad Spartans are equipped to lead teams, analyze data, navigate global challenges, and strengthen organizations in an era of rapid change. “This program reflects our commitment to preparing leaders who can adapt to change,” Wayne Hutchison, assistant dean of MBA programs, said. “Students can apply what they learn directly to their careers while developing the strategic perspective employers demand.” With this addition, we affirm the Broad College’s position as a leader in graduate education, expanding access while maintaining the excellence that defines a Broad MBA. CONNECTING SPARTANS WITH THE C-SUITE Broad has introduced a distinctive course in the Executive MBA program, Lessons in Leadership: Perspectives from the C-Suite. Developed and taught by Sanjay Gupta, Dean Emeritus, this course gives students an unparalleled opportunity to learn directly from top executives across industries, including many Spartan alumni, through fireside conversations and candid Q&A sessions. Discussions focus on real-world leadership challenges such as mergers, sustainability, governance, and values-based decision-making. Students are not only listeners; they are active participants who complete a personal leadership gap analysis and develop an individual leadership roadmap. This work encourages reflection, self-

awareness, and actionable plans for growth that extend far beyond the classroom. The impact is powerful. Students report that hearing from executives expanded their perspectives and challenged them to act with greater confidence and clarity. At the same time, executives valued engaging with the next generation of Spartan leaders, noting the quality of dialogue and curiosity in the classroom. By connecting students directly with the C-suite, this course underscores Broad’s commitment to experiential, high-impact graduate education and reinforces our reputation for preparing leaders who are ready to meet today’s most complex challenges.
