College Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Aspects and Sense of Belonging

Between 2022 and 2024, mean scores improved on eight out of ten posively framed items. For these items, mean scores closer to 5.00 are posive. The largest increases were observed in two areas: the sense of belonging, which had a mean score of 3.68 in 2022 and increased to 3.79 in 2024, reflecng a 0.11-point rise; and the percepon of the college as a place to reach full potenal, which went from a mean score of 3.58 in 2022 to 3.68 in 2024, a 0.10-point increase. Other increases varied from 0.01 to 0.08 points. However, two items experienced a decrease in mean scores (were more negave in 2024). The item regarding the college providing sufficient resources to support a diverse faculty and staff decreased from a mean score of 3.35 in 2022 to 3.26 in 2024, a 0.09-point drop. Addionally, the item concerning the college's appropriate emphasis on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) fell from a mean score of 3.40 in 2022 to 3.35 in 2024, a 0.05-point decrease.
