College Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Aspects and Sense of Belonging

Mean scores for 2024 were higher than those for 2022 across the ten posively framed items that measured diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) aspects, as well as a sense of belonging at the college. The increases in mean scores ranged from +0.06 to +0.26. The largest increases were seen in items assessing the following:

• Feeling valued as an individual at the college: Mean score in 2022 was 3.85, and in 2024 it rose to 4.11.

• Finding one or more communies or groups: Mean score in 2022 was 3.62, which increased to 3.87 in 2024.

• A sense of belonging at the college: Mean score for 2022 was 4.00, and it increased to 4.25 in 2024.

The item with the smallest increase in mean score was measuring the college providing sufficient resources and programs to support a diverse student body, mean score 2022, 3.99, 2024, 4.05. Full results are shown in Chart 5.

Al items framed in the posive improved for the college between 2022 and 2024, while those framed in the negave either remained almost the same or became more unfavorable in 2024 compared to 2022. For these items, mean scores closer to 1.00 are more posive or favorable.
